Yamaha’s is always (and it couldn’t be otherwise, given the importance of the brand) an excellent audio proposal, also thanks to the many partnerships with illustrious brands, from Audinate to Cisco, from Webex to Microsoft Teams and Zoom
On the occasion of ISE 2024, which was held in Barcelona from 30 January to 2 February, Yamaha presented several interesting product innovations as well as important new partnerships to relaunch its commitment to an excellent audio proposal in various markets. All this, in an innovative stand full of solutions, including a “virtual rack” which allowed visitors to view the products in the Yamaha catalog (including processors, preamps, network switches and a digital mixer) in an exhaustive and technological way, not with the “classic” display but by consistently exploiting the possibilities offered by video technology.
Partnerships with companies specializing in video equipment, wireless display technology, collaboration platforms, communications and room and device management protocols ensure that Yamaha audio systems and the highest quality video systems can be seamlessly integrated to deliver the latest AV solutions generation. And we are talking about partners at the level of Audinate, Cisco Webex, Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
As regards the Yamaha products exhibited at ISE 2024, the company’s commitment to offering the highest possible audio quality in a wide range of applications, from live events to installation and streaming, is confirmed. Precisely on this aspect Wouter “Tony” Verkuijl Project Manager, Pre-sales Yamaha Music Europe GmbH – Branch Italy, who we met during ISE 2024, offered us his own reflection: “During the pandemic” – he said – “we learned how important it is streaming, so dedicating a part of the stand to streaming is very current, a sign of the times. This year, here at ISE, I saw many services, many customers from the naval sector, with a strong interest in the DM7 digital mixers. If I had to indicate a major theme of this edition, I would certainly say virtual production, which could bring broadcast closer to systems integration but also to the world of large events and entertainment. It is no coincidence that, with our virtual rack, we wanted to reflect this situation.”
A quick look at Yamaha’s product news takes us first of all to the new series of VXL-WR loudspeakers (just announced), thin, weatherproof line arrays, the first Yamaha loudspeaker system with IP55 protection, designed to offer defined reproduction and intelligibility of speech and music in theme parks, sports fields and other outdoor facilities.
Another notable addition is version 1.1.0 of ProVisionaire Design software, which adds support for the MRX7-D signal processor, the Tio1608-D2 Dante I/O rack and the MCP1 advanced controller. Also presented was the new ADECIA 2.5 firmware, the well-known ceiling solution for audio in meeting rooms and corporate environments.
Finally, also on display are the DM7 and DM3 digital mixers, launched in 2023 and designed to cover multiple audio applications, from large live events to installation projects and recording studios. Furthermore, new audio components were presented for the DME7 processor: de-esser, program ducker, ping-pong delay and a new scheduler function.
