Designed for commercial installations, the new Yamaha VXH series pendant speakers combine high-quality music reproduction with a meticulous design, aiming to improve audio diffusion in shops and public spaces.
The goal is to provide superior quality sound to large commercial venues, hotels, entertainment venues and corporate environments: with traditional surface-mount or ceiling-mounted speakers, the challenge is often difficult. That’s why Yamaha has thought of pendant models, which can offer a more localized sound that reduces reverb problems, unwanted reflections and the resulting lower quality audio. Suitable for high, open structure and sloped ceilings, the new Yamaha VXH series includes two models, VXH6 and VXH8, designed to achieve the best possible reproduction of background music and vocals. Featuring a 120º dispersion pattern, the 6.5” VXH6 model has 300W peak power handling and is designed for relatively low hanging.
The 8” VXH8 model has a narrower dispersion pattern (75º) and higher peak power (360W), for higher hanging positions. Of course, you can combine the two models, as well as combine them with other speakers from Yamaha’s extensive catalog, to achieve the best sound and coverage for any application. Weighing only 5.7 kg and 7.2 kg respectively, VXH6 and VXH8 support high and low impedance connections, while the speaker power can be easily changed even after installation, thanks to a simple selector. This minimizes the need for additional drives.
The VXH series speakers are IP45 rated for use in a wide range of environments, including outdoors, and are supplied with hanging accessories and a cable kit for easy height adjustment. The cabinets feature a low impact ergonomic design based on a compact circular shape. Both models are available in a black or white, while the front magnetic grille has a contoured profile and is paintable to match any decor.
Thomas Hemery, General Manager, Marketing and Sales of Yamaha Pro Audio, said: “As with all of our professional audio products, Yamaha is committed to providing only the best solutions. So our R&D team took the time to develop a pendant speaker that we were confident would meet the most exacting standards of installers and their customers. The VXH series fills a gap in our range, providing speakers suitable for large commercial spaces and open structures, with high or sloping ceilings, which in the past were difficult to satisfy, especially without compromising the philosophy of quality and reliability that characterizes us.
