That the health emergency is about to come to an end is, in practice, more a hope than a certainty, but certainly the world of Live events restarts with a great desire to make up for lost time.
Link has long been at the forefront of companies that have proposed intelligent and versatile solutions for the needs of sanitation and safety in public places and spaces frequented by many people. Of course, the thought immediately runs to the world of live events, which by definition cannot do without a large audience. But Link’s commitment to reacting in the best way to the difficulties of the pandemic does not end there.
With the restart of the exhibitions dedicated to live events (primarily MIR di Rimini and Prolight&Sound in Frankfurt), the company will also create some important installations. In Rimini, from 27 to 29 March, MIR will host the Live You Play format, an event that includes a live band on stage supported by exhibitors’ products, from speakers for audio broadcasting to consoles, including cabling. And this is where Link comes into play, which will take care of the wiring necessary for the realization of the event, building a system capable of acquiring all the signals on the stage and, through a stage box with passive transformers by Link, splitting them in three different directions to as many consoles, which will thus be able to independently use their own pre-amps. Another part of the system will allow the signals to be sent from the consoles to the six different speaker systems, allowing for multi-protocol routing. Furthermore, Link will also be responsible for supplying the fiber connection from FOH to the under-stage stage boxes, through a single connector capable of carrying twelve cores in single-mode fiber and as many in multi-mode fiber.
In recent months, Link has faced the forced stop of the entertainment world with an eye to the future, trying to imagine a new normality and, starting from that, developing a range of products that could facilitate a restart in complete safety for workers and the public. Link On Air, a range of air and surface sanitization products that uses the patented ActivePure Technology, was born from this basic idea. In particular, the ROLL model will be used for the MIR in Rimini, a portable sanitizer designed and built for large spaces where live shows are held. The entire pavilion will therefore be safe, and will be repeatedly sanitized even during the show, as ROLL uses a technology that is completely harmless to humans, but lethal to viruses, bacteria, odors and molds with an efficacy of 99,99%. After two years of forced immobility, the entertainment industry is now finally seeing a window open, to be exploited to restart safely and profitably.
