Held at the end of November in Milan and Rome, the two Open Days organized by 3G Electronics represented an excellent meeting point and update on the latest proposals in various application fields, from Control Rooms to Digital Signage.
Maurizio Vacca, Sales Director at 3G Electronics, has no doubts in defining as “a success” the two days of Open House organized by the company respectively in Milan (November 22, at the Crowne Plaza Linate) and Rome (November 24, at the IH Hotels Rome Z3). “The event” continues Maurizio Vacca, whom we interviewed on the occasion of the Milanese stage of the mini-roadshow, “gave us a very positive impression, there was a desire to meet each other, to re-establish ties and relationships. The covid has taken away the pleasure of direct encounters, but on the other hand it has created new ways of working and communicating. Going back to events like this is important, it brings us back to our ways of working. The demos are starting up again and there is a great desire to start again.”
And so, we started with the end, with an overall evaluation. But how can you evaluate the two days and, above all, the innovations presented Maurizio Vacca replies: “Four years have passed since the last roadshow, it was 2018. We have returned to meet customers who in these days have been able to see our solutions lined up all together. We have relationships with our partners that date back several years, there is a lot of loyalty, and it’s not such a common thing. Furthermore, the Italian market is difficult, complex, fragmented… Our partners have entrusted us with managing it and have been supporting us for a long time. And everyone joined this event with enthusiasm.”
Since Maurizio has brought up the topic, we don’t miss the opportunity to talk about it: how is the Italian market at this particular moment? How is it evolving? “A central theme” – replies Maurizio Vacca – “is the Control Room, which is moving towards new markets and new technologies, including the LED wall. There has also been a change in the approach to video signal control and management, the heart of the Control Room: from a classic and centralized solution we move towards a signal management center via IP. The modern Control Room, AV-over-IP, allows for more flexibility and signals can travel further. However, change is slow because the control room market is very conservative. In fact, during the roadshow we presented two solutions: a classic one and a more avant-garde one. Both valid, it’s necessary to offer them with attention to the customer and his needs. There are several parameters to calculate to make a choice. There are also interesting hybrid solutions. This, after all, is a market that we at 3G have been following since the very beginning, in the mid-eighties. With the emergence of Wallnet, our software dedicated to control rooms, there was a turning point: we can also manage very complex control rooms for large customers. Finally, covid has been a very strong impetus for the development of control rooms, which are in great demand during the pandemic.”
To conclude with a few more “practical” notes, what were the novelties of this two-stage roadshow signed by 3G Electronics? Maurizio Vacca has no doubts: “In addition to the Control Room world, we also presented the latest news for Digital Signage: the new BrightSign 5 series, which includes the new XC5 multi-channel player, and the native WallSign support for Sharp NEC monitors. News also for the management of Over IP video streams, with the Matrox Convert IP product family and the Wallnet software for the management of the modern Control Room and the Video Over IP transport in mission critical environments. Finally, the PADS4 solutions for the Smart Building including the Workspace and Welcome Desk modules.”
Final note of merit also for the organization of the event: the visitor had “stations” relating to each brand present, in each of which it was possible to see the novelties and speak with specialized personnel to discover all their secrets and potential. In short, a very well thought-out event, which expressed all the desire to work as in the past, as well as the confirmed synergy between 3G Electronics and its historical partners: BrightSign, Matrox, Net Display System, Sharp Nec and Wallin.
