Sony launches the world’s smallest 3LCD laser projectors.
The VPL-PHZ61 and VPL-PHZ51 models reproduce images with full color and optimal quality even in brightly lit classrooms and conference rooms.
Sony today announced the world’s smallest WUXGA 3LCD laser projectors*1, the VPL-PHZ61 and VPL-PHZ51 models, which combine advanced operating features with high brightness and installation flexibility, and are a reliable choice for a wide range of business, educational, museum, and entertainment simulation applications.
The VPL-PHZ61 and VPL-PHZ51 models are compact and easy to install on ceilings in meeting rooms and classrooms, with a vertical displacement of +55%, the widest of the fixed-optics models*1. Both models, with their sophisticated design, boast extraordinarily high brightness – 6,400 lumens for the VPL-PHZ61 (7,000 lumens at the center) and 5,300 lumens for the VPL-PHZ51 (5,800 lumens at the center) – capable of projecting crystal-clear images even in brightly lit meeting rooms or auditoriums, and to enhance collaboration and communication among users.
By integrating Sony’s Reality Creation technology for real-time signal processing, mapping and analysis, the projectors produce crisp, clear images for effective presentations and visualizations. Both new models support 4K 60P input for compatibility with 4K video sources, an aspect further emphasized by Reality Creation’s ability to optimize the sharpness, resolution and overall quality of images, whether simple pictures, graphics or text. In addition, the projectors do not require any converter when used with other 4K equipment for simultaneous projection of 4K content and support HDMI “Deep Color” and HDCP2.3. The projectors’ new Reality Text feature refines the rendering of textual presentations, offering clearer characters and lines for even greater readability.
The projectors also feature advanced intelligent settings that allow them to be optimized for the environment. The addition of the custom Bright View feature delivers colors that accurately preserve their contrast and brilliance, even in brightly lit environments. The new Ambiance feature automatically detects room brightness using an ambient light sensor and adjusts Bright View, color gain, and Reality Creation settings accordingly. Finally, the new models use a new filter material that requires no filter cleaning for use in classrooms and meeting rooms*2.
“Many of our customers struggle to find presentation solutions that offer exceptionally high brightness, along with sophisticated features that enhance content and the overall user experience. We don’t want our customers to compromise on any of these needs, which is why we have built on our experience in developing feature-rich laser projectors to offer the market compact projectors with advanced features. These projectors are truly world-class products in terms of technology, quality and design,” said Robert Meakin, European Product Manager at Professional Displays & Solutions.
Other features include:
Automatic Brightness – Using an ambient light sensor, the projector’s brightness is automatically controlled at night to save on energy consumption.
Auto Power On – New auto power on feature that turns on the projector when it detects a video signal and auto input selection to automatically change the input when a video signal is detected
Data cloning feature – Allows users to copy all settings from one projector to all subsequent projectors using a USB device
Maintenance – Thanks to a new sensor, it is easier for users to remove the filter and know when the filter needs to be cleaned.
The VPL-PHZ61 and VPL-PHZ51 projectors will be available in early 2023. More information about the new models or Sony’s line-up of 3LCD laser projectors is available at pro.sony.
