To streamline its content production and distribution capabilities, Seventh-day Adventist publishing house Safeliz adopted a live production workflow powered by Blackmagic Design products.
Safeliz has invested in Blackmagic Design equipment to expand its reach and improve the quality of its media content. In addition to its publications, the Christian publishing house is involved in a variety of initiatives, including socially-focused conferences, online education through its platform (Interbooks), and support for global charitable missions.
Rickson Nobre is the media production coordinator, responsible for overseeing the digital transformation process of the publisher. “My role was to develop a multi-channel strategy that would meet the growing demand for quality digital content. I wanted to strengthen production values and enrich the storytelling,” he said. “After consulting with industry colleagues, I approached Avacab Audiovisuales, a professional audiovisual equipment supplier, to assess our technical needs and explore the options available,” he continued. “I was already familiar with Blackmagic Design switchers, but it was during this project that I really appreciated the benefits of their plug and play workflow.”
Safeliz’s offices in Colmenar Viejo, Spain now have dedicated production facilities, including a studio and control room centered around Blackmagic Design products. The multi-camera workflow is based around Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Plus G2 units, an ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K mixer for switching between images, and multiple HyperDeck Studio 4K Pro recorders for ingest and playback.
“In the past, I have worked with expensive, high-quality cameras that were unnecessarily complicated to set up and use. This is not the case with Blackmagic Design studio cameras, which are fast and easy to use” – Nobre continued. He concluded: “Integrating professional-quality equipment into our AV system not only improves our ability to produce larger productions, but also ensures we can confidently meet the technical and creative requirements of our events and conferences program.”
In fact, recently, “The Vuelta al Altar” was created, a three-day hybrid event with two new thematic bibles and a round table on social issues, with the performance of the Brazilian band Arautos do Rei. The event required a multitude of technical solutions, screens to display images of what was happening and three large audiovisual surfaces.
