At ISE 2023 we visited the booth of the Avigliana (TO) company, whose protective shells for video projectors used in exterior projects are used all over the world.
Turning houses, buildings, industries, mountains and landscapes into screens for spectacular projections: mapping is an increasingly popular form of art and visual communication. In outdoor installations, it is crucial to safeguard the increasingly sophisticated and powerful technologies from weather changes and the elements. We talked about this at ISE with the specialists at Proietta, which has been on the market for architectural solutions since 1993, both with proprietary video projectors and gobos and with specific cases for the protection of equipment from major brands.
“Among the different proposals dedicated to videomapping and events, we chose to present our shells to the AV audience at ISE,” explains Proietta Ceo Cristiano Pigino, in the opening photo at right, together with marketing manager Alessandro Croce. “In fact, we have patented these outdoor climate protectors, ideal for protecting video projectors from all weather conditions. Cold, heat, humidity, dust, smog: this tool guarantees the durability of every exterior project thus solving one of the main problems of system integrators and services. In fact, sudden changes and severe temperatures can send machines crashing, just as other pollution-related conditions can clog optics and image reproduction systems, undermining the overall performance of the installation, whether temporary or fixed. That’s why we integrate our proposals, which are versatile and customizable to the location, to outdoor projects.” Proietta cases fit all models, from the smallest 3,000-ansi lumen projectors to the highest-performance, up to 55,000 ansi lumens. These are IP54-rated products equipped with a forced-air system. Climate-controlled solutions are also available upon request, depending on the climatic conditions of the venues hosting the shows.
“These shells can be seen practically all over the world,” Pigino explains. “More and more lighting designers and artistic directors are choosing us because of our design, robustness and customization possibilities. But Proietta is not only synonymous with large videomapping projects: we also support professionals in the simplest but effective projections through gobos. That is, both indoor and outdoor image projectors, all IP65, dedicated to static projections for buildings and monuments.”
