At ProLight + Sound in Frankfurt Powersoft focused on supporting the distributers and meeting old customers. Although in recent years they have turned more to installation, the live market is again growing for the company, which is only slowed down by the supply difficulties, affecting an otherwise exceptional growth.
During the ProLight + Sound we visited Powersoft, the Italian company specialized in the development and production of technologies for the professional audio market, such as power amplifiers, components for speakers and softwares for both live applications and installations. We chatted with Cosimo Cecchi, Europe Sales Manager, who explains that although the company was originally born with the touring market in mind, in recent years in Europe there has been a huge growth of the installation market, both because of the choices of the company and to follow the market trend, now the installation market for Powersoft exceeds that of live events. In fact, even during the pandemic, the customers who had invested before the pandemic went on with their projects and they were joined by those who took advantage of the lockdown to renew. Obviously this also indicates that development is following these trends, for example with products such as Dynamic Music Distribution, designed for small to medium-sized installations to optimize both the use and performance of the amplifiers and offer more flexibility to the systems. Although at the moment installation makes up for most of the sales, there is a strong desire to restart in the touring market, especially in recent months.
On the other hand, as regards the famous Frankfurt show, Powersoft has not brought new products, which were instead concentrated on the ISE in Barcelona. Despite this, they say they are satisfied with the Frankfurt’s fair, in which the main objective is to support distributors and meet already known customers. The expectation is therefore not to see new faces, but to finally meet live all those who have been supported in recent months. The only doubts that were cast on their presence at the fair arose due to the supply problems of the components. In fact, they wondered if it was worth going to the fair to tell the customer that they should wait, but eventually Powersoft decided that the benefits outweighed the disadvantages.
Some of these are missing more than others, but without clear geometries behind them, which therefore do not affect one range rather than another. However, it remains difficult to think of effective planning for this new growth phase in such an unpredictable and fluctuating market.
