Designed for a higher level of scalability, the new Philips X-Line 65-inch videowall series raises the bar on innovation and sustainability
Philips 6005X is now an almost unique display series on the market, in the 65-inch format with native 4k resolution on the panel, whose distinguishing features are precisely the larger screen size and a resolution that allows for much more detail and the use of more sources to achieve a higher number of pixels on a smaller area.
“4k per single panel,” explains Andrea Barbuti, global product manager for PPDS Philips professional displays, “means being able to display a lot more data at the same time while retaining the high resolution of the image, as is required, for example, in control room videowall installations and various other types of applications.
More information, same surface area
In general, the new Philips 6005X series can be integrated wherever there is a need for more data and visibility per single panel, and in fact, for the same square meters it will be possible to achieve four times the pixel density, which, from a scalability perspective, reduces the number of panels needed for installation, saving not only on purchase, but on total cost ownership.
“From a mechanical point of view,” added Daniele Tomè, product manager EMEA at PPDS Philips professional displays, “we have completely changed the I/O, choosing connections via Display Port, then securely attached cables, and IR control chain over LAN cable. In addition, each panel functions as a network switch in and out so that from a single access point and a single network cable, we can create the chain with everyone.”
Overall, the mix between the change in technology for the Daisy Chain, the use of normal, readily available commercially available network cables, and standard VESA mounts further contributes to reducing total cost ownership because it makes each installation easier and faster, with fewer potential inconveniences during set-up and less need for inventory, especially in rental services and in settings where mission critical is extremely important.
Sustainable, ready-to-use innovation
The 6005X series displays are pre-calibrated during assembly at 256 points per panel, so they generate a white consistency (and a brightness within the same display that is much higher than previous series) that facilitates replacement operations and fine color tuning when immediate intervention times are required. In addition, the Reverse Scan function allows for optimized video alignment between different panels in case of frequent image refresh.
In videowall configurations up to 10×10, setups with the 6005X series are perfectly managed with only software on the display, with no need for external controllers, matrices or other boosters, in case easily integrated for larger installations.
6005X is among the Philips models available on the market already with newly designed packaging, made from recycled materials and without the use of plastics to contain cables and accessories.
“We are definitely aiming for green,” concluded Daniele Tomè, “with a manufacturing strategy that progressively includes solutions that reduce the impact and the actual total cost of each installation upstream, generating lower energy consumption, fewer repairs and fewer spare parts, with a view to increased scalability.
