Integrate dynamic digital signage systems with Philips’ innovative ePaper solution to promote sustainability and cost reduction, offering unique format and colour levels.
Tableaux is the innovative Philips professional display based on Image-Retain technology – designed for Retail, Transportation and Public venues applications – with a non-backlit panel which uses natural brightness to display the image, without the need for a power supply.
It’s an ePaper display that is ideal for digital signage systems where the refresh rate of content is low and where keeping operating and management costs low is a key factor in the set-up project.
Philips Tableaux is a screen with an E-ink Reflective panel with 60,000 colours (ACeP) and a resolution of 3200 x 1800 pixels with both portrait and landscape orientation, in 24h/7 operation mode.
The anti-reflective panel, now in 25″ format but soon available in different sizes, has a wide viewing angle and is perfectly readable even when exposed to sunlight, and includes wi-fi and Bluetooth connection utilities, and manual or remote content management options via software platforms of PPDS or third-party.
The ePaper technology of these impressive displays, combined with the advanced colour capability of static image reproduction, allows vivid content to be shown in ‘unplugged’ mode, with zero power consumption when displaying the fixed image, extremely low during content refresh (0.0025kWh per image change) and then immediately back to zero when the new image finishes loading.
With the Philips Tableaux series, many companies can achieve business goals and ambitions that combine the need for optimised communication systems to digitise paper signage, with the prospects of realising greater energy savings, lower operating costs and reduced CO2 emissions in the medium to long term.
Martijn van der Woude, VP Global Marketing and Business Development at PPDS commented: “There are very many instances where digital signage is used only display still images, which may change only once a day, and sometimes even less. For these, you do not need a solution that offers a refresh rate of, for example 60fps, or to invest in a technology that far exceeds the capabilities required to achieve the desired impact”.
“Sustainability is a top priority for many businesses – Martijn added – and at PPDS, we feel it is our duty to lead the industry with this challenge, bringing products that deliver on energy and environmental savings, without compromising customers’ digital display objectives”.
