On the occasion of IFSEC 2018 Panasonic Business unveiled the first 4K security camera, a new solution offering a 33 MP image resolution.
I-Pro EXTREME multisensor cameras have four repositionable lenses, each with 4K sensors that deliver extremely sharp vehicle images even when they are fast moving. The cameras are available both in Full HD at 30 fps and in 4K (3840×2160) at 15 fps and are equipped with iA (intelligent Auto) and ClearSight coating, which makes them suitable for capturing images, which can be used for proof purposes, even in more difficult conditions, such as city surveillance and traffic monitoring. With H.265 compression, as well as smart coding and ROI (Region of Interest) self-learning technology, these cameras promise an extreme image performance while minimizing the need for bandwidth.
“As we have integrated also the smart coding and the H.265 compression, we are able to offer with four of the new cameras a bit rate lower than that produced by a single 4K standard with the old H.264”, said Gerard Figols, European Category Manager by Panasonic Security Solutions. “A further advantage is the four repositionable optics, which minimize blind spots in the frame and therefore allow the positioning of cameras, for example, in complex intersections and monitoring areas installed anywhere in city centers. This is a real turning point for the transition to 4K technology in the video surveillance industry.”
The new Panasonic multi-sensor camera will be available from July 2018.
