UHD40 is the new Optoma’s proposal for ultra-defined projection in Home Cinema applications
4K is increasingly becoming more apparent in homes, both in TV and projection, thanks to the increasing availability of TV programs in this format. As for the displays, in domestic environments it is difficult to exceed the 55” size, as well as for the logistical and installation difficulties, also for the costs. The Optoma proposal seems to help those who require large projection surfaces at low cost and without excessive installation difficulties. In fact, with the new UHD40, it is possible to create a projection area with a diagonal that exceeds 300”. The projector offers a contrast ratio of 500.000 and a brightness of 4.200 ANSI lumens, which enables it to operate even in conditions of high ambient light, without the need to obscure the environment.
This new model of 4K projector also offers High Dynamic Range (HDR) compatibility, HDCP 2.2 support and, for audio, it includes a stereo speaker system. The vertical lens shift simplifies installation and positioning, while the connection options are different, starting from the two HDMI ports. The color rendering is entrusted to Optoma Amazing Color technology, which includes an improved color wheel and different settings to better calibrate the projector on the type of content to be projected.
The list price, which does not reach 1.500 euros, is undoubtedly interesting, and Roberto Bocchi, Optoma’s Italian head of consumer markets, in this way has summarized this new product: “Following the success of our current offer of 4K UHD video projectors, we continue to expand our range and offer our customers more compact solutions to meet their needs for ultra-sharp and high-resolution HDR images. We have long realized that there are many users who are waiting to switch to 4K technology and now our UHD40 is able to offer the best motivations.”
