Let us the last opening note on ISE: at the end of an amazing week full of insights for all those who attended, but also for those who followed the event remotely, perhaps through our electronic Daily or our new Bridging Podcast live from the fair, here are the numbers of the 2024 edition
Obviously the theme will be the numbers of this edition, but above all a little reflection on them: already at a glance it was clear that this was a very well-attended edition, in fact the press release at the end of the fair announced almost 74,000 unique visitors (from which must be subtracted a 20, maybe 30% of non-visitors, such as exhibitors, speakers, etc.) for 95,000 registrations and 172,627 visitors over the four days of the show. The trade fair premises accommodated 1,408 exhibitors on 82,000 square metres of net exhibition space.
As ISE Managing Director Mike Blackman and AVIXA CEO David Labuskes said in our Biridging Podcast, ISE is the place where innovation is imagined and then created. Together with networking, or the chance to meet other professionals, an experience from which ideas, insights and new business often develop, we believe these are the two key ingredients that bring people back to visit and exhibit at this show. As well as the ability to represent a market that is evolving, in all its strands, and gradually incorporating new themes and focuses. This year, for example, much attention was given to live events.
The next question will be how this growth is and will be administered, which could lead to an event that is difficult to visit, with too many parallel strands, and where some exhibitors, perhaps the ‘small ones’ or those in more disadvantaged positions, could be penalised. For the time being, the organisers have always taken up the challenge and demonstrated their ability to keep the bar high, year after year, through countless educational proposals, attractive areas located in all the halls, important exhibitors and stands located even in the areas furthest from the entrance, and guided groups.
Looking forward to returning to Barcelona in 2025, be sure to work on your follow up to the show, and see you at the next edition.
