The presentation press conference by Mike Blackman, Managing Director of ISE: events and numbers of the new edition of ISE 2023
The usual press conference for the presentation of the event has just closed: Mike Blackman, Managing Director of ISE began with a positive comment on the choice of location, after more than 12 years of association with Amsterdam: and it seems to us, too, that Barcelona is welcoming ISE very well, both as a city system and as an exhibition facility, rational and spacious as the numbers of ISE today require.
And indeed this is the largest edition since its inception, and with pre-registered visitor numbers approaching the 2020 record: 68,000 with Spain 25%, UK 10.92% Germany 7%. Italy totaled 1.37%, or about a thousand people.
Mike Blackman then introduced the new features, led by Hall 6 dedicated to Content production and a Summit that will introduce its main themes, scheduled for today at 10:30 a.m.; a note also for the themes related to the Metaverse, AR and VR, understood from a business perspective and with the possibility of direct experience by visiting the dedicated room also in Hall 6. We will be sure to drop by as well.
Blackman then talked about many of the topics that emerged in the various pre-show releases: from the three Keynotes scheduled, all at 5:15 p.m: Today we start with BK Johannessen of Epic games who will speak precisely on gaming and content creation; tomorrow it will be Steven Nuttall’s turn for a look at how live TV is managed in the world of sports, taking as an example one of the most difficult sports to manage from a TV perspective, sailing (and in 2024 America’s Cup will be in Barcelona); finally, Fran Chuan professor at the University of Barcelona will speak about innovation in the AV world downstream of the survey conducted by ISE on the subject in the past weeks.
A note also for partner events, the Llum BCN lighting party that will take place between Feb. 3 and 5, WindowSight, responsible for a digital art exhibition in the hallway from hall 7 to hall 8. Not forgetting the free training by CEDIA and AVIXA, whose Tech Talks in English and Spanish we recall.
Well… the clock is ticking and we’ll soon have the ribbon cutting, comfortable shoes and off to the first day of ISE, about which we’ll tell you all in tomorrow’s Daily. Stay connected!
