Gemini GVN is a breakthrough in Lightware’s product portfolio: a new virtual matrix system, it is capable of supporting video via HDMI 2.0 with 4K@60 4:4:4 resolution, as well as audio and high-speed USB 2.0 transmission over 1Gb Ethernet infrastructures
Lightware’s stated goal in launching Gemini GVN is to achieve seamless AV integration. This new product, in fact, perfectly integrates into existing networks, with low cabling costs and low latency solutions that do not compromise signal quality. Its scalability also allows for easy expansion by adding encoders and decoders without the need for additional or more complex hardware switchers. The system is able to dynamically route any source to any display and supports various AV signals, which is ideal for AV configurations in both corporate and educational contexts.
The heart of the Gemini GVN system is the Matrix Management Unit (MMU), which provides centralized control, eliminating the need for individual endpoints and enabling seamless switching between audio, video and USB signals. Additionally, with Lightware’s Advanced EDID Management system, the Gemini GVN delivers HDMI 2.0 signal quality up to 4K UHD@60Hz, supporting HDR, HDR+ and Dolby Vision. The versatile design works with both CAT cables (up to 100 meters) and fiber optics (up to 10 kilometers).
Finally, the Gemini GVN is designed to be environmentally friendly and energy efficient. Running on a 1G Ethernet network, the Gemini GVN consumes only ~10W, reducing both energy costs and environmental impact. Lightware’s commitment to sustainability is further reflected in its choice of eco-friendly, paper-based packaging.
