JVC will pay tribute to 25 years of D-ILA technology with a new limited edition projector and by releasing a free Firmware update for new, high-performance features.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of D-ILA technology, JVCKENWOOD Corporation is launching the all-new DLA-25LTD limited edition projector. This projector, available in mid-December, is capable of achieving a native contrast of 150,000:1 thanks to a state-of-the-art D-ILA chip and other carefully selected optical devices. Its innovative design is specially designed to celebrate this important anniversary: the DLA-25LTD, in fact, will have a silver center plate with a logo and serial number. In addition, the commemorative 25th-anniversary logo will be displayed when the projector is turned on.
To best honor this important anniversary, JVC will announce at CEDIA 2022 a free firmware update, scheduled for mid-November, with new features, improved performance, and enhanced ease of use for all current-generation D-ILA projectors: the DLA-NZ9, DLA-NZ8, DLA-NZ7, DLA-NP5, DLA-RS4100, DLA-RS3100, DLA-RS2100, and DLA-RS1100. Specifically, the new firmware will offer improved HDR Frame Adapt image performance, additional new Frame Adapt modes so as to best adapt to any environment and lighting conditions-a new mode for dynamic dimming with the laser light source, and “FILMMAKER MODE™” to faithfully reproduce the director’s intentions. These features will enable everyone to enjoy the best video experience, in a highly intuitive way.
D-ILA
“D-ILA” technology, developed by JVC based on “LCOS” (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) is a liquid crystal reflective technology designed to improve the performance of projectors. This enables the perfectly defined black level and contrast, excellent and sharp colors, as well as high brightness and high resolution.
From 1997, when JVC developed SXGA resolution (1.3 million pixels), to today, it has been a long road. As early as 2000, the company was able to make projectors with 4K resolution. The innovative process and constant research enabled JVC to make the world’s smallest 4K device at the time in 2016. The goal has always been to reduce the size of devices, while always ensuring excellent performance and offering high-end projectors.
The current generation of D-ILA projectors, introduced to the world market last year, has been very successful among enthusiasts seeking a high-quality home theater experience. All models benefit from a high-definition 8K resolution display option, thanks to JVC’s proprietary 8K e-shift technology, a high-brightness laser light source, and the latest 48 Gbps HDMI connectivity, capable of supporting 8K / 60 fps and 4K / 120 fps, as well as JVC’s exclusive HDR Frame Adapt.
The JVC DLA-25LTD will be available in December 2022, at a suggested retail price of €29,999.99.
