Acus Sound Engineering is not exactly a “new” reality: even if it was founded in 2012, the company has a very long background as SR Technology, from which it detached itself, just a few years ago.
The brothers Emanuele and Letizia Canale are at the helm of this interesting Italian reality, Acus Sound Engineering, well known in the field of musical instruments (just take a look, on the website, at the large list of internationally renowned artists who use the Acus products). But is ISE exactly the right stage for such a high profile company, and with a fundamentally sectorial (and very high end) market? Yes, because Acus Sound Engineering has also launched in the installation products market for a few years, with a line of passive speakers with rigorously wooden cabinets and a refined design, of Italian production, like all the company’s products, starting from amplifiers for musical instruments.
We asked Emanuele Canale, R&D manager, to draw a short profile of the company, and he replied: “We are a company from Recanati, in the Marche region, and we have a great deal of experience in the audio field. Until a few years ago, we only worked in amplification for musicians, a sector in which, not surprisingly, we are quite well known. We have decided, however, to accept a new challenge: to launch ourselves into the installation sector. We know it will take some time to get results, but we are confident.”
Quality and Made in Italy are the keywords of this company, as Letizia Canale, Sales Department, confirms us: “Yes, we move only and exclusively in the qualitatively high range. We have neither the intention nor the logistical possibilities to meet the low-level market segments, also because, while in the sector of musical instruments we have few competitors, the same cannot be said of the installation market. Here at ISE, in fact, we did not bring products for musicians, but speakers for medium-sized rooms.”
“We make everything in Italy”, continues Emanuele Canale, “and we offer our products above all to those who want high quality systems. Compared to others, we are a small company: our strengths are the production in Italy and the distribution system, exclusively through distributors. We sell directly online only in countries where we do not have an official distributor.”
Acus Sound Engineering’s distribution network is remarkable: “90% of our turnover comes from abroad”, confirms Letizia Canale. “We sell in Austria, Germany, France, Scandinavia, Switzerland, Benelux, recently also Spain and Portugal and we are opening in China and America.”
