In the fascinating showroom of Intermark Sistemi at the former Manifattura Tabacchi, in Milan, we met Simone D’Ambrosio, Sales Manager of the company, who dedicated some of his time to explain the event and the location to us
On 12 September, the Open House of Intermark Sistemi took place simultaneously in Milan and Rome, entitled “Intermark For You – Display to stand out”: a day dedicated to technical training, live demonstrations and case studies, to the discovery of complete solutions for various applications, from UC to the booking and management of corporate spaces and the display of content on LED walls and displays based on the many brands distributed in Italy by Intermark Sistemi. The event was also an important opportunity to meet product experts, manufacturing partners and an interesting and varied series of guests who brought direct testimonies of the use and construction of the solutions. The brands present, also with technical staff who were able to illustrate the main innovations, ranged from Maxhub to Arthur Holm, from iSistemi to ProDVX up to Edbak and Artnovion.
C: To begin with, can you tell us something about your fascinating Milanese headquarters?
SDA – “Gladly! We are in the former Manifattura Tabacchi, which was renovated quite recently and is a historic location in Milan, very well served by public transport and easily reachable. Ours is a showroom that can be used in everyday life, not a location for an event every now and then. We wanted to build a stratified space, which did not house boxes and individual products, but rather complete solutions, in short, applications of the products. It is a space that is as open as possible, so much so that we even receive rental requests!”
C: Can you give us a small overview of the most interesting brands of this Open House?
SDA – “I would talk about themes, rather than brands. First of all, the LED wall, which is becoming increasingly popular, and in this Maxhub has given us a strong push, with digital signage applications, room booking, etc. It’s a booming technology. Another key theme is Unified Communication, we have presented various solutions both as regards video, with retractable monitors and front-facing cameras, and as regards audio solutions, with Artnovion, an interesting Portuguese company that develops extremely innovative solutions for the acoustic treatment capable of creating extraordinary listening experiences, with an eye to design. Furthermore, we also talked about latest generation room booking and increasingly technological remote meetings, with facial recognition to improve the possibility of understanding during meetings between distant teams.”
C: However, right from the title, the day was dedicated in particular to displays…
SDA – “Exactly, and in this field we are talking above all about Maxhub, with its models characterized by Android SoC, but also about ProDVX, with its panel PCs, touch monitors and signage displays for retail environments, receptions, etc. In short, here we are between Corporate and Digital Signage! Also not to be forgotten are the Arthur Holm proposals, with motorized, retractable, foldable monitors and various solutions to improve communication in meeting rooms. There was also no shortage of Educational and Hospitality applications, let’s say that we structured the day based on the different areas into which the showroom is divided.”
C: So, many brands represented and many solutions displayed…
SDA – “Exactly. Intermark has thirty-five brands in its catalogue, and it’s a company that, when it chooses a brand and distributes it, dedicates itself to it with all the passion possible, believing in it and investing in it. We don’t belong to the category of those who collect brand after brand: we prefer to have a few less, but dedicate the right time and energy to each one.”
C: The last question: how have the market and work changed over the years?
SDA – “There is more of a consultancy aspect: while before we talked more about products, now solutions are much more important. At the center is the user with his needs, regardless of the brands they represent. In our case there are thirty-five, so we can still offer a wide choice. We are specialists in some sectors and generalists in others, and our work consists of broadening markets and opening up new possibilities, new visions. Today, in particular, we are in the IT era: we need to know how to speak its language.”
