We continue to talk about multimedia and immersivity through the voices of the 4Dodo professionals, speakers of the three Avixa webinars on the subject, and the participants. With them, we delved into the added value, for AV professionals, of an integrated approach between idea, content and technology.
The watchword, integration. A core value for Avixa’s activities and for the growth of AV professionals, which does not only concern the technology front. “To create valuable experiences, designers, creatives and technicians cannot remain confined to their own areas of expertise,” explains Giulia Totis, Marketing and Multimedia Project Manager at 4Dodo. “Instead, they must have a general understanding of the activities of the other professionals involved. Transversal knowledge is essential for successful immersive and multimedia projects”.
The aim of the webinars “Experiences beyond imagination: immersivity through Content and Multimedia Technology Integration”, which brought together over 140 participants, was to transfer this idea of added value. “We hope that it will not remain confined to AV professionals, but that the end customer will also perceive the importance of this integration and benefit from it,” he continues.
The value of collaboration
Elena Bertolini, Art Director of the multimedia experience company, echoes her: “From the creatives’ point of view, interfacing with AV professionals who are trained on the subject and who understand the technical and creative production requirements allows them to optimally relate to the content management and reproduction systems, making the organisation of the entire experience more efficient and optimized”.
Obtaining a complete vision, from design to installation, favours the genesis of successful immersive experiences. “For example,” says Giorgia Barbana, System and Quality Manager at 4Dodo, “by doing the pixel mapping I provide Elena with the canvas to create the content, while by developing the tech layouts I allow Giulia to present the client with a technical draft of the design. The mutual knowledge of operational requirements allows us to organise ourselves efficiently and ask the right questions”.
The feedback from Nadia Romanello, a representative of AV products and solutions, who participated in the webinars, corroborates this philosophy. “It was an interesting, exciting and educational opportunity. The speakers were able to combine creativity with functional and technical aspects, maintaining an approach suitable for both industry professionals and end customers. I think all participants understood the complexity of a project, which and how many aspects need to be considered and taken care of carefully. And above all, the value of teamwork”.
In general, the audience of the AV sector, which is notoriously technical, showed a strong interest in the topics presented and in the choice of structuring the meetings according to the three integrated guidelines of immersive projects. An opportunity to get to know the method and working tools of an all-female team, that of 4Dodo, which we often see involved in the dissemination and promotion activities of the Italian group of the Avixa Women’s Council.
This article is part of the column produced in collaboration with the Italian Group of the AVIXA Women’s Council. One of the main objectives of the Council is to give visibility to professional women in the AV world in Italy and to the activities dedicated to diversity, equity and inclusion in the Italian STEM sector.
