Didacta 2024 could not miss a brand like Hikvision, always the bearer of interesting innovations and stimulating overlaps between worlds, in this case between Corporate and Educational
Interactive monitors, LED walls and video walls: the digitalisation of schools, for increasingly engaging and interactive lessons, also involves risky and courageous, in a word innovative, proposals. Marco Santucci, Product Manager of the Transmission & Display Business Unit of Hikvision Italy, whom we met in Florence, spoke to us about a specific trend currently underway in the world of schools: “There is a tendency to move from interactive whiteboards to video walls, depending on, obviously, of the available budget. The PNRR funds help a lot, this year too, and there are many requests, especially in the 2×2 and 3×3 sizes.”
C – So, video walls and LED walls also in schools? Are you able to supply the entire supply chain of necessary products?
MS – Of course, also the brackets for possible wall mounting. More than LED technology, it is the video wall that is establishing itself in schools, because it has a lower cost. The LED is suitable for applications such as auditoriums and aulae magnae, where it can be used to create the so-called “wow effect”, an immersive and very fascinating atmosphere. But for individual classrooms or more common spaces, the video wall is more suitable.
C – What have you presented regarding interactive monitors?
MS – Here at Didacta we have brought our model with Android 11, while the next one will have Android 13 on board. The cuts are the usual ones: 65”-75”-86”, these are the models seen in many schools. In general, there is an increasingly greater need for interactivity in the Edu world.
C – What new features would you focus on?
MS – We have a very interesting new proposal that combines webcam, microphone and speaker, which can also be used with a remote control, valid for both Corporate and Educational. There are no major changes regarding interactive whiteboards, but we always present them with pleasure because they are very well known and widespread.
C – How did the fair go?
MS – Beyond our expectations! Lots of visitors, even on the last day! Let’s say that our challenge was to bring not only products for Edu applications, but also from meeting rooms into Corporate contexts. We know that schools can’t always afford them, but we brought them because they still capture a lot of interest, people stop to look at them and so new ideas and solutions are born.
