The combined Grafox/Nexma proposal for schools is called HyperWall, a union between classic installations and the digital world at the service of new teaching ideas and an innovative and immersive school
Born from the collaboration between Grafox and Nexma, a leading storytelling company serving territorial marketing, HyperWall is a new example of contamination, which unites three worlds: that of schools, that of graphic displays and that of digital communication.
HyperWall, in practice, is a fusion between physical space (a wall) and digital space managed by a WebApp. In this way the wall, equipped with QR Code technology and a physical device, the NFC tag, which allows digital contents to be activated via a mobile device, is no longer a passive element of the classroom, but becomes a “bridge” towards a new classy digital space that lends itself to multiple applications and uses.
In Florence, on the occasion of Didacta 2024, we asked Marco Santoboni, Marketing Director of Grafox, a few questions.
C – Can you briefly introduce your company? Where are you from, what do you do…?
MS – We are a company from Perugia, for thirty years we have been operating in the world of small and large format digital printing, and in the world of installations. We have been working with schools for a couple of years, creating walls with graphics like the ones we brought here to our stand. For us it was a great challenge, creating “educational walls” thanks to a division that we called Graphic School, a team of internal graphic designers dedicated to this application. We share graphic-didactic ideas with schools to ensure that our walls convey both beauty and visual learning.
C – What is HyperWall and why is it an innovative idea?
MS – HyperWall is a way to transform walls into a bridge to new digital spaces, it is a “digital enabler”, so to speak, a fusion between physical space and digital space. We engineered it with the collaboration of a partner company, called Nexma, and which was decisive in designing the WebApp on which the project is based. With this app, students and teachers can collaborate digitally to upload in-depth content.
C – Do you also present products for acoustic correction?
MS – Yes, we also have a division that deals with sustainability. We can cover our walls with any material. What we brought this year is called SILENZIO, it is a fabric that is applied to the wall, made with recycled plastic bottles. It has an anti-reverberation effect.
C – From what we see, your stand is shared with another company…
MS – Exactly, we are together with Simone Berti’s company, our partner in the HyperWall project dedicated to schools. Berti Simone Srl deals with exclusive services to schools, including the supply of technological material and school furniture, as well as assistance, repair, installation and rental services. In short, from multimedia materials to PCs, including software, and school furniture. Together we have already covered around one hundred schools in a year and a half.
C – How did the fair go?
MS – Very good, there was a great turnout, we are very happy to be there. For us and for our project this is the year of maturity, we have detected great interest in our solution.
