The presence of Philips Professional Displays Solutions at ISE 2024 was characterised by several novelties and on different fronts. We focus, in particular, on the evolution of eco-design models and the first line of LED displays for outdoor applications.
To enclose everything we saw at the PPDS stand in just one article is basically impossible. For this reason, we leave space for the various product launches already published to highlight, specifically, two strands: the renewed efficiency of Philips QE-Line 3650 and the official entry into the outdoor signage market.
The first news concerns the Philips QE-Line 3650 displays with advanced Eco-Design, 4K performance and reduced energy consumption. Now available in 50″, 55″ and 65″ formats, in portrait and/or landscape orientation, the series has been entirely redesigned over the past two years using the PPDS Eco-Design methodology. The aim is to increase efficiency while retaining the features and benefits of the popular Q-Line 3000. Conceived with the environment in mind, with innovative hardware and software solutions (e.g. advanced remote management), the 3650 Series Eco-Design consumes up to 50 per cent less energy than comparable models, while delivering the best 4K Ultra HD video performance, thanks to a 350 cd/m2 panel.
“We are working hard on the circular approach to bring more sustainable products to the market,” explains Andrea Barbuti, Global Product Manager Professional Displays at PPDS. “The path involves all business processes, from design to production, through delivery and installation, to the end of a product’s life. This, together with improved logistics, also can help our customers in their ecological transition”. Moreover, PPDS designers rethought the displays’ packaging: they eliminated plastic buffers, opting for recycled ones, while the ink on the packaging is water or soy-based, therefore less polluting.
PPDS in the outdoor market
The second interesting announcement is PPDS entry into the world of LED displays for outdoor applications. The Urban LED 6000 series, with 10,000 nits, marks the beginning of an investment that will be worth USD 29.87 billion by 2032. There’s more: PPDS chose the stage of ISE while signing a sports “pact” with the iconic city team, as the official LED display and digital signage supplier for the redevelopment of FC Barcelona’s Spotify Camp Nou stadium.
