Ours is increasingly the world of contamination and interconnection, between systems and technologies. In the section dedicated to the world of Control Rooms we will discover how meeting rooms and control rooms can in many cases, and more and more often, coincide.
The contemporary world is the world of “liquidity” (Bauman docet), also in the field of Control Rooms: with Barco we continue our journey in the sector, discovering a new trend, as spontaneous as it is growing. The technology is ready and today’s work habits, “detached” from a single and always the same physical place, allow the position of the single operator to coincide with that of the work group which must have evidence of the same numbers and data. In summary, it is possible to easily distribute and relocate the rooms even in places where the processes do not physically take place. How much could the pandemic have affected this phenomenon? Or should we talk about an independent process, already in place before Covid, and generated by market demands?
The fact is that, if before we spoke almost exclusively of control room and crisis room (equipped and declined in many ways), the birth of new multi-purpose control environments now places the need to transfer data and analysis to decision-making environments such as meetings and board rooms, in which we find the fusion with AV-over-IP transport technologies and, for the presentation, the emergence of BYOM solutions. Barco, in particular, offers multiple integration possibilities, thanks to the wide range of products and solutions in its portfolio as well as the extensive interoperability between components.
We can therefore speak of an “extended ecosystem”, which connects different offices even on several floors or in different buildings, even in different parts of the world. More and more often, people work remotely and must be able to easily interface with those in the office, or in distant locations. Technology has made it possible to increase and combine multiple sources of information, in an “enlarged” system.
“The need is growing sharply – Fabrizio Ponzo, Barco Territory Manager explained to us -: if before we spoke almost exclusively of the control room and the crisis room, declined in many ways, the birth of new multi-purpose control environments requires the need to transfer data and related analysis to decision-making environments such as Meetings and Board Rooms where we find the fusion with AV-over-IP transport technologies, presentation and BYOM (Bring Your Own Meeting) solutions. Integrations are quite common for us thanks to the wide range of products and solutions we have in our portfolio and the wide interoperability between the components, guaranteeing continuous innovation on the market.”
