PTZ: Pan-Zoom-Tilt, the three key movements that allow effective, dynamic and engaging shooting for those who follow an event or a lesson remotely. Exhibo offers various solutions, the latest comes from QSC with a new plug-in for Q-SYS that will be illustrated in a webinar not to be missed.
On 12 and 13 October 2021, in several sessions with wide availability of schedules, QSC offers a demo of the new plug-in Q-SYS Automatic Camera Preset Recall v2.0, which allows automatic positioning and seamless switching of the PTZ camera, to offer a better level of learning to those connected remotely (students or participants in a meeting or conference). The new update allows any microphone (fixed or multi-zone, with multiple audio pickup lobes) to automatically recall the Q-SYS PTZ camera presets based on the speaker’s position. The live demo includes different scenarios and aims to show all the potential of the QSC signed solution, even in the case of traveling speakers with respect to the public.
The key topics of the various webinar sessions will be support for vertical and horizontal angles on the Sennheiser TCC2 microphones and the detailed installation procedure of the updated plug-in and new example design. The plug-in works by monitoring the horizontal angle value of the Sennheiser TeamConnect 2 to recall user-determined camera presets for up to ten Q-SYS PTZ-IP cameras.

Compared to the tracking function of the camera, the automatic recall of presets uses fixed and predetermined positions, which are recalled based on the audio signal coming from the closest speaker to the microphone, which makes it possible to easily cover larger areas. Tracking, on the other hand, usually involves the use of IR-based recognition systems, more suitable for following subjects close to the camera, with narrow focal angles.
