d&b to showcase innovative audio technologies and new comprehensive solutions.
d&b is providing show-goers at MIR 2022 a full range of technology solutions at booth 005 in hall B1 from March 27-29. Among the innovative solutions being showcased are XSL, d&b’s latest addition to the SL-Series family, the only modern line array system that can offer full broadband directivity control, the 44S ultra-compact flush mountable loudspeaker and latest addition to d&b’s xS installation range and the B8/Bi8 subwoofer, d&b’s little wonder, as well as the A-Series, d&b’s augmented array. The d&b Soundscape, the sound object positioning and acoustic room emulation tool will be demoed three times a day in room Ravezzi-Hall Sud, providing attendees with an overview of the creative potential unleashed by deploying this cutting-edge immersive sound technology.

XSL Line Array
The XSL System comprises installation specific and mobile touring variants. XSL delivers cardioid performance across the full frequency spectrum, using patented SL-Series cardioid techniques to control low frequency dispersion. This results in reduced audio spill onto open mics on stage; improved clarity and impact of individual instruments; and less coloration of mid range build up in venues and on broadcast and recording feeds.
A-Series
The A-Series establishes a new sound reinforcement concept that extends flexibility beyond its usual limits: the augmented array, an advanced loudspeaker concept born from the d&b applied evolution system development philosophy. Combining variable splay angles, two approaches to acoustic optimization, and advanced waveguide design, the A-Series addresses applications where coverage flexibility in both horizontal and vertical domains is paramount.
d&b Soundscape
Soundscape, allows designers to create high resolution localisation and imaging of sound objects and is suitable for applications where the end goal is to utilise sound as a creative tool to increase audience engagement and immersion. The d&b Soundscape allows for the positioning of up to 64 sound objects freely within the sound design and can modify or create emulated acoustic signatures, both indoors and outdoors. It is suitable for a wide range of applications from theaters, houses of worship, live concerts, clubs and corporate events.
44S loudspeaker
The 44S is the first flush mountable loudspeaker from d&b. It’s the perfect loudspeaker for situations where the need for more sound is apparent, but the space available is an issue.
B8/Bi8 subwoofer
Standing only 170 mm tall, the B8/Bi8-SUB keeps a remarkably low profile yet boasts an exceptionally high performance to size ratio that provides a low frequency extension down to 43 Hz.
