Next Friday, May 10th, at the Ordine degli Archittetti of Bologna offices, the event “Designing Inclusive Environments” will take place. Organized by Connessioni and Audiosales, in collaboration with the Ordine degli Architetti PPC of the Province of Bologna, this meeting aims to promote the design of accessible and inclusive spaces for all, regardless of their diversity and disabilities.
Designing inclusive environments is not just a regulatory issue, but an ethical and social commitment aimed at ensuring that every individual has equal access to services, culture, and education. It involves going beyond simply removing architectural barriers, to embrace an approach that considers the physical, sensory, and cognitive needs of all users. During the event, fundamental themes related to the design of accessible environments will be addressed, from the importance of regulatory frameworks to the concept of universal design. A particular focus will be dedicated to cognitive disabilities, neurodivergences, hearing impairments, and deafness. The crucial role of sound perception in communication and daily experience will be discussed, as well as the importance of making cultural and artistic venues accessible. The potential of technology will be explored, and how it can help and sometimes solve disabilities, from assistive automation to solutions for hearing impairments.
The program also includes an interactive workshop on inclusive design and the use of assistive technologies in public and cultural places, led by architect Giovanni Del Zanna, an expert in Universal Design, and Elena Rossi, from Studio Sound Service.
This event represents a unique opportunity for architects, designers, and industry professionals to deepen their knowledge and skills in the field of inclusive design, thus contributing to creating a more welcoming and accessible future for all. The initiative is recognized with 3 professional training credits for architects, confirming the importance and relevance of this topic in the professional context.
There is still time to register: check out the program and secure your seat in the room!
The next stops will be in Milan (May 22nd) and Florence (May 30th).
