An important milestone is being celebrated, but the focus remains firmly on the future. Prolight + Sound stands for cutting-edge event technology, and the Frankfurt event (April 8–11, 2025) is entirely dedicated to propelling the industry forward.
From April 8 to 11, 2025, Frankfurt will host the 30th edition of Prolight + Sound, showcasing the most extensive international range of event lighting products and Europe’s most comprehensive offering of theatre and stage technology. A particular focus will be placed on the international theatre community, with a newly conceived dedicated area that integrates four key aspects: exhibition, training, knowledge transfer, and networking. The goal is to foster intergenerational exchange among industry experts and present a complete range of innovative products and services.
At the heart of this concept is the “Theatre College,” offering high-quality bilingual seminars and workshops developed in collaboration with leading industry associations. The new “Theatre Stage” will host product demonstrations and innovations, while the “Theatre Talk” area will facilitate idea exchanges between exhibitors and professionals. A Networking Area with daily events and a bar will create the perfect setting for relaxed and effective networking.
Additionally, the free “Guided Tours Theater & Light,” led by industry experts, will focus on product innovations and new developments, providing participants with a comprehensive overview.
Prolight + Sound 2025 will center around three main themes:
- Multifunctional technologies and their impact on the theatre industry.
- Immersive technologies and artificial intelligence in modern theatre productions.
- Trends and developments in sustainability and energy efficiency.
The event will also continue to emphasize talent promotion and recruitment through the Future Hub (Hall 11.0). The shortage of skilled workers remains one of the most pressing challenges for the theatre and stage technology sectors, as well as the event industry as a whole. At the Career Center, visitors can connect directly with companies offering job opportunities. The Start-up Area will highlight emerging brands, and the Networking Lounge will provide a space for visitors to relax and connect.
A special Future Talents Day, scheduled for Friday, April 11, 2025, will allow young professionals to explore various career paths in the industry and network with key players.
