The Papeete Beach in Milano Marittima has decided to install a Yes Tech MG7S P3.9 LED wall consisting of 28 panels (14 on each side) throughout the summer season.
These uniquely shaped panels aim to capture the attention of the audience at this beachfront establishment known for its beach parties. This semi-permanent and impactful installation, operational 24/7, was carried out by E.P.S., a company based in Cervia (RA).
In recent years, LED walls have become highly sought-after tools for beach resorts aiming to stand out and provide a unique experience to their customers and their friends. The case of Papeete Beach in Milano Marittima is a prime example. They have adopted the Yes Tech MG7S P3.9 displays as base modules to create a double-sided LED wall, with the purpose of showcasing graphics, event flyers, and advertisements from sponsors during the famous beach parties for which Papeete Beach is renowned on the Romagna Riviera.
There are multiple reasons that drive a beach resort to choose to install an LED wall.
The primary and obvious reason is the essence of Digital Signage: communication. From advertisements to weather forecasts, safety notifications to special promotions and commercial information to catch the attention of beachgoers, even from a distance.
As an outdoor installation, LED walls need to remain highly visible even under direct sunlight. Therefore, a product with high brightness was required. The MG7S P3.9, with its maximum 4500 nits and a black pixel design that reduces solar reflection, excels in meeting this requirement. Additionally, high contrast is essential.
At the beginning of beach parties, a screen that was previously displaying advertisements can be used to play music videos, dynamic graphics, and rotating images to create the right atmosphere for beach dances and evenings of enjoyment. When lighting conditions change from twilight to night, the display’s brightness can be dimmed down to as low as 1000 nits using the dimming function of this Yes Tech display.
The second fundamental requirement concerns waterproofing. Here, we have a product certified IP65 front/back, capable of withstanding adverse conditions typical of beach usage, such as sand, wind, and humidity.
Lastly, image quality is crucial: the combination of vibrant colors, smooth dynamic animations, and high-resolution videos creates an engaging visual experience that captivates, astonishes, and entertains beachgoers.
With a pixel pitch of 3.9, Yes Tech achieves a density of 65,536 pixels/m², thanks to the 1516 LEDs per panel, which are of the full-black type and ensure excellent image quality even when viewed from off-center positions due to the 160° viewing angle in both horizontal and vertical directions. The LED wall is also sturdy, easy to assemble and maintain, and offers low power consumption. The control system is based on NovaStar sending cards with integrated players.
An installation on two sides, an unusual geometry
The most striking aspect of this installation is the placement and shape of the LED wall, specifically designed by the installer to seamlessly integrate with the environment. Special attention was given to the dimensions required for achieving excellent graphic results. The LED wall is positioned at the most visible point from the beach, above the DJ booth and also visible from the entrance of the beach resort. The installation is created with trusses forming the upper vertices of a triangle, resulting in a unique geometry necessary to accommodate the pyramid-like arrangement of the LED wall panels. This distinctive shape was chosen purely for design reasons, providing an eye-catching and non-conventional solution.
The installer, E.P.S., led by Cristian Balbo and Andrea Montanari, highlighted one of the challenges faced: creating a tall structure without overly visible wind supports. The truss structure remains almost completely concealed behind the panels, creating a “suspended” effect for the specially crafted graphic images designed by industry experts.
Both the installer and the end customer (Papeete) expressed great satisfaction with the performance achieved by this LED wall, reaffirming Yes Tech’s undisputed leadership not only in LED display rentals but also installations.
