We met Fabrizio Ponzo, Territory Manager Italy Large Videowall & Control Room of Barco, in Rome, during the Rome Innovation Hub; we spoke about the reasons for Barco’s presence at the event and the partnership with Lightware.
“The Rome Innovation Hub,” began Fabrizio Ponzo, “was a very interesting opportunity to present ourselves to industry associations, as a partner for the management of projects of national importance. It is essential to offer a clear overview of the most suitable technologies and solutions to set up important environments, which are increasingly complex to design and structure, and which are also ergonomic to use and, above all, guarantee H24 operational continuity. That’s why we joined forces with Lightware and were present together.”
Barco and Lightware offer a bounty of AV solutions for signal distribution and conference rooms design, auditoriums and other environments. “It is importnat- Fabrizio told us – to inform designers about what technologies they can use for their clients. We know that their main business is not about AV technology, but AV when dropped into the right context and with the right products, can bring great benefits to projects. We chose to start from the end, in some way: design examples like control rooms, meeting rooms, BYOD collaborative environments, Unified Communication, and so on.” In fact, Barco brought to the Roma Innovation Hub a premium LEDwall system, with 1.2 pixel pitch capable of generating up to 800 nits of brightness. This type of LEDwall lends itself to any operational context, from the control room to the meeting room. “The challenge – Fabrizio points out – is to let architects and designers understand what the advantages can be in choosing the right products, depending on the context.”
How was the event foro the Barco-Lightware tandem? Fabrizio Ponzo doesn’t mince words: “The convention was very interesting, well structured with workshops and plenary sessions and saw an important flow of visitors, the contacts are of high quality, maybe numerically not very high but valuable. Here we do not find our classic client focused on control rooms, and this is precisely the added value of participating in such an event, which allows us to get out of our comfort zone and meet new interlocutors.”
