Remarkable success at Prolight + Sound for Axiom products, starting with the new remote control software to the targeted monitoring solutions
With some justified pride, Daniele Massaccesi, Manager of the Business Unit Axiom and Sales Engineer, at PL+S in Frankfurt presented the main news of the Axiom line, from the remote control software, “which has been completely rewritten and introduces many difference in approach.” It provides, in essence, three different working environments: setup, editing and live (or system monitoring). “In this way” – continues Daniele Massaccesi – “we can handle all the Axiom devices, both active and passive, or both internal and external DSP. Some manufacturers have a management software for the active speakers, but they can not manage the passive speakers. Our choice was rather handle everything with the same software, all in networking.” In addition to the control software, the other great novelty by Axiom – totally made in Itlay – is the 12×3,5 line array column entirely in aluminum, able to offer increased control of directivity at medium and low frequencies. A rear grid along the vertical, in fact, produces an emission which interferes with the front, which allows to erase the medium-low frequencies.
“It’s a product” – says Daniele Massaccesi – “that interferes very little with the stage, perfect for musicians even in small spaces. It’s also possible to compose very long columns by connecting several devices.” At the Axiom stand was in fact a demo system composed with four line array columns.
Also interesting are the Point Source systems, conventional speakers but very specific, designed to meet specific monitoring needs even in the television environment. The smaller models are fitted with a dome tweeter instead of a compression driver, for a distributed monitoring carried out by several Point Source that does not carry the sound too far away and therefore do not interfere with the rest of the system.
“Our solution” – concludes Daniele Massaccesi – “meets many needs, even in terms of size. In fact, RAI and Mediaset use our products for many of their programs.”
