Trade shows, we know, are a very important moment to exchange ideas and points of view, even more so when they are events focused on vertical markets for integrated technologies. And of course this was also the case at Didacta
One of the most interesting highlights of Didacta, which has just ended with great success in terms of participation at the Florence Fiera, was the exchange with one of the exhibitors of the Smart Building.edu thematic area where, together with our colleagues from Smart Building Italia, we presented some technologically advanced solutions for transforming Italian schools into 4.0 institutes.
Probably the main challenge in opening a fruitful dialogue with professionals in the vertical markets of IS application is related to communication. Because while it is a fact that integrated technologies are part of many vertical markets, including education – which has now ‘cleared’ their use from simple interactive whiteboards to complex environment management solutions, up to the new frontiers of immersive learning – it is equally true that technologies are not recognisable and recognised as such by users, but more often in the form of applications. In a nutshell, if a switcher is ‘dumb’ for a school manager, the same device, once inserted into a multimedia installation, will immediately become intelligible in its operational role.
Even if it is then perhaps not essential that end users know all the devices in an installation, but that they understand their importance and ultimately rely on the right professionals to make the right choices.
“We wanted to try to talk in a simple way about topics that we normally deal with technicians, to trigger demand, which in a particular field such as schools must start from the bottom, and I think we succeeded,” noted Luca Baldin, director of Smart Building Italia.
Special thanks are therefore due to the companies that shared Smart Building.edu’s adventure at Didacta 2024, which helped us to make the technological solutions applied to education more intelligible thanks to an innovative exhibition model – where each company represents a product exclusivity in a gallery of solutions – combined with content: Air Control, Audiosales, Aura Immersive, Bigrock, H-Farm, Pano2VR, Sylvania, Simlab, TouchWindow and Virtual Point.
