The German company Auvidea, a rising star in the field of Artificial Intelligence technologies, has identified Panasonic Factory Solutions as the ideal partner for the SMT production line and for consultancy
Producing its customized AI-based carrier boards in-house, Auvidea was looking for a partner to produce its flagship SMT range and to support the overall growth of the business.
The choice fell on Panasonic Factory Solutions, a partner capable of providing the machinery and skills necessary to help Auvidea meet customers’ immediate requests.
In the rapidly developing field of Artificial Intelligence, Auvidea has quickly made a name for itself as a leader in the design and manufacturing of custom carrier boards based on the NVIDIA Jetson platform. As the only NVIDIA Elite Partner in Europe, Auvidea offers products used in machine learning applications and is helping to provide technology components for innovative AI-based solutions, ranging from improving urban traffic management to transforming production of efficient crops in agriculture.
Unlike other manufacturers with long lead times for order fulfillment, Panasonic immediately had the ideal SMT production machine available: the Panasonic AM100. The single head of Panasonic’s AM100 modular pick and place machine is capable of positioning a remarkable array of components.
Auvidea subsequently also installed a larger Panasonic NPM-W2 machine, and upgraded to an entire production line based on it, with screen printing machine, and installed the Panasonic PanaCIM software suite for materials management.
The NPM-W2 machine line supports an even higher production rate and quality and represents one of the most flexible and versatile pick-and-place solutions on the market today. This is why Panasonic has become a key long-term partner for Auvidea to expand production.
“We started by outsourcing part of our production” explained Oliver Stelbrink, CTO of Auvidea, “but our products are very specific and often require small batch production. This has often led to specific orders being delayed or queued in favor of larger projects. So, we decided to take full responsibility for production in-house. Panasonic is always there to help us set up our systems and supports us quickly with any questions and maintenance requirements. We have never had an interruption in the production line in the six years we have been working with Panasonic”, he concluded.
