On June 19th, we attended the online press conference for IBC2024 (RAI Amsterdam from September 13 to 16), which we will visit this year to report back to our readers on the trends, especially in the area of hybridization between Broadcasting and Pro AV technologies. Want a sneak peek? Dedicated meetings for the AV professionals community, a splash of Esports, and lots and lots of AI
Here are the main highlights already on our list for what we will be visiting in Amsterdam: starting from the end, we won’t miss the AI Tech Zone (Hall 14, sponsored by Wasabi Technologies) which will offer: a space for AI-based solution providers, a dedicated stage to discuss its impact on media and entertainment, and a networking area to interact with those who use it. Chatbot generation, environment creation, graphic element management… we will try to understand how the cntents and our perception of them will change in the future.
We will also participate in the Esports Showcase, in collaboration with Unlocked, in Hall 8, for the latest updates in this rapidly growing sector. According to recent forecasts by data company Newzoo, there will be 3.2 billion gamers worldwide in 2024, more than a third of the global population. The sector’s value is estimated at $385 billion, a multi-billion dollar phenomenon that continues to capture the attention of a global audience… we believe these reasons are enough to follow this event.
Finally, of particular interest to AV professionals, and in homage to the meeting of AV and Broadcast, here is the AV Speed Pitch Event, which will bring together 40 manufacturers from the AV User Group – an association that includes over 1600 professional end-users of AV technologies – with some major clients, to directly present solutions and services. Surely, even in AV Broadcast, one of the main challenges will be the meeting between technology providers and designers, with professional end-users.
Of course, we will visit the showground, which this year will feature more than 1,100 confirmed exhibitors, with many familiar names, from Canon, Sony to Blackmagic Design, but also many we will meet for the first time – 5G Broadcast Collective, Achtel, CDN Alliance, etc. – and we will tell you about their proposals and role in the industry.
