Every Arec media station from firmware 2.6 up to the latest comes with a built-in user interface, known as GUI, which can be viewed on a display connected to the HDMI output.
The GUI can be opened and closed with a simple click of the mouse or using a touch display connected via USB.
It is also possible to use the show/hide buttons located at the left and right ends of the GUI. Starting with firmware versions 2.11 and later, with MCU versions 4.3 and 4.4, it is possible to completely disable the GUI. To do this, open the media station’s “Administrator” web page, go to “Media I/O -> “Display”.
You will find two options: “OSD Menu” and “OSD Menu – Video Playback”. By disabling the “OSD Menu” option, you can disable the GUI. Disabling the “OSD Menu – Playback Video” option will keep the GUI active, but will remove the playback function from it.
If you want to keep the GUI active, but disable the function for technicians to view previously recorded videos, make sure you disable this function.
As of May 2024, you can disable the GUI completely on the LS-2, LS-200, LS-300, LS-400, LS-410, LS-860 and KL-3T models, with plans to include this option for the LS-110 and LS-US2 models in the coming months.
