“The Beach Audio & Video Open Day” was held in Milan on May 28th, an event organized by Ligra to present, all together, its best proposals for the ProAV world, from Canon to Hikvision, from Artome to Nexo via Sharp-NEC, Matrox and Sowa
From morning to evening, in a very intense day at “The Beach” in Milan, in via Corelli, Ligra DS brought together some of the most important brands whose products it distributes for an event that represented a unique opportunity to discover and experiment the most innovative proposals on the market.
“This event was a challenge” Stefania Maffei, marketing manager of Ligra, told us. “The idea was to create an important event for Milan and Lombardy, so we involved our top brands and the emerging brands of which we are exclusive distributors. We want to cover the Audio/Video market completely, which is why we have created an immersive path with very advanced technologies.”
Mauro Spagnoli, Sales Marketing manager of Ligra, defined the terms of the event more precisely which, he said, “was very oriented towards ProAV in different areas. First of all, we focused on projection, with edge blending technologies and the possibility of creating formats other than the classic 16:9. Video mapping, particularly for museum installations, is a market that is growing a lot.”
The installation at the fascinating The Beach therefore saw the coexistence of Hikvision monitors and LED walls, Sharp-NEC projectors and edge blending solutions, Canon PTZ cameras and controllers, AVoIP IPMX-SMPTE ST2110 Matrox as well as Nexo speakers and amplifiers, all-in-one presentation and video projection systems by Artome and Sowa wireless speakers. A real full immersion in the latest ProAV, in short! For each brand, there were technical and commercial staff able to provide detailed information on the products.
In particular, the new Artome all-in-one solution is very interesting, for moving the projector easily and elegantly, together with the video camera and microphone. Perfect for the Educational sector, this solution is also appreciated by architects, as it easily fits into many projects and is developed with the brand’s usual attention to design.
Mauro Spagnoli underlines the importance of over-IP thanks to the “combined” presence of Canon and Matrox: “All camera flows pass through zero latency Audio/Video encoders-decoders” he told us. “We no longer use a physical cable for audio, but everything passes over IP via Matrox, in uncompressed broadcast quality and zero latency. Canon cameras offer great quality, both classic camcorders and PTZ cameras, thanks to the fact that they have the same sensors, they can be controlled by a single traditional control room, the switch between one signal and another is not visible because they all have the same image quality and do not have different colorimetries.”
Also worth mentioning, before closing, are the Sharp-NEC and Hikvision LED walls, the former of undoubted quality, and the latter perhaps more imaginative and eclectic. “Exactly” confirms Mauro Spagnoli. “NEC offers LEDs for control rooms, with exceptional quality. For more fashionable applications there is Hikvision, for example with the semi-transparent model, suitable for shop windows, ships etc., or with the Poster, suitable for infotainment applications, outside conference rooms in hotels or on ships.”
Finally, a few words about Nexo, a lively French professional audio brand. We were able to speak with Sales Manager Gianni Fantini, who presented us with the new models of the ID series of passive speakers – Nexo, he explained to us, only makes passive speakers.
“The ID series” – Gianni told us – “is the most compact, for speech applications or for clubs and lounges. In short, it is a line for installation in the smaller models, while the larger ones are suitable for concerts and large venues. Nexo” – he concluded – “is characterized by the search for quality and cleanliness of sound without advanced filtering. Taking inspiration from the world of classical music, Nexo has focused on the search for excellent dynamics and excellent frequency ranges, for very flat diffusion.”
