We announced it, but it really was a success: the Italian Group of the Avixa Women’s Council met Integrated Systems Europe with a well-attended breakfast at the association’s stand. We are going tell you about the participants’ impressions in two insights.
A community of Pro AV protagonists, a moment to listen and exchange ideas, an opportunity to reflect on the theme of gender equality in Italy, more so in a technically advanced sector such as systems integration. All this at the Avixa stand at ISE, on the morning of 1 February, with more than 30 professionals enthusiastic about recounting their experience and looking, together, at the future of female AV.
“The event went very well,” says Valeria Rapa, Programme Coordinator, Europe at Avixa. “Not only members of the group attended, but also people curious to learn more about our activities, and two of them have already applied to officially join the Italian Avixa Women’s Council. Even those who had simply stopped to listen then took part in the conversation, which, starting from the topic of women in AV Pro, expanded on the need to enhance our skills. As well as the need to properly present the sector’s potential to those outside who do not yet know it”. A chat made up of points of view, which gave the professionals a boost in view of the 2024 projects.
Common points of view
In the Connessioni podcast dedicated to this event, we collected the voices of five participants: Nadia Romanello, agent for several AV brands, Antonella Terrasi, multimedia designer, Giorgia Barbana and Giulia Totis, respectively system and control quality manager and marketing manager of the entertainment company 4dodo, and Giuliana Geronimo, co-founder of the gaming and interactive experience company Streamcolors.
They all emphasised the advantage of being able to meet in person, after so many online meetings. Thus, confirming the role of trade fairs, large or small as they may be, as aggregators of the experiences of a world of women that is still too little ‘evident’, even if the participants interviewed agreed that a more incisive presence was felt at the 2024 edition of ISE. Each with her own experiences, professional and personal, with colleagues and customers, was able to share with the group her own journey in audio video. Believing in the strength of “working as a system” to launch projects in Italy and to create, together, concrete opportunities for work and growth.
